I’m lucky to have been able to build experience and shape my own methods in some exciting, pioneering fields relating to climate adaptation and resilient design. the following are some of the topics/capabilities I’m currently most excited about partnering on, though I am eager to hear your ideas & expand this list!

current consulting focuses

cost benefit analysis research for blue/green infrastructure projects

cost benefit analyses are required for any large-scale infrastructure project. for resilience projects, traditional CBA models fail to incorporate socio-economic inputs that accurately reflect the impact of climate risks like flooding on communities.

working closely with engineering teams, I provide research and proposed metrics for better capturing the socio-economic benefits of proposed resilient infrastructure projects, which reduces costs and adds value during the permitting process.

nature-based risk reduction strategies for waterfront design & development

whether we like it or not, development is happening in the floodplain, often with little or no consideration of future climate impacts. further, most zoning and land use regulation favors harder, greyer risk reduction strategies which can exacerbate flood risk in the long term.

working closely with project teams, I help steer the concept design strategy for waterfront projects, helping to maximize a site’s ecological function while reducing risks, which can reduce capex, insurance premiums, and permitting costs.

inclusive community engagement & public awareness strategy

local stakeholders are a critical part of any resilience project, whether you’re shaping policy, developing infrastructure, or building a campaign.

I have been a lifelong advocate for putting frontline communities at the center of climate adaptation decision-making, and am passionate about designing engagement strategies which reflect these stakeholders’ needs. working closely with clients, I provide landscape analysis and stakeholder strategies with a focus on outcomes. I’ve worked in diverse communities across New York and New Jersey, as well as internationally in Indonesia.
